Philippine Volleyball is definitely back! After years and years of absence in international competitions, our homegrown players are going to get enough exposure and experience as the country is all set to join several high-level tournaments this 2017. Coming off participation in one or two regional competitions in the past years and the successful hosting of FIVB Women’s Club World Championships and Asian Women’s Club Championships, the Philippines is joining not one, not two but five tournaments this year.
It cannot be denied that Roger Gorayeb has multiple Volleyball championships under his name in the NCAA. He handled Ateneo Lady Eagles and led them to finals appearances in the UAAP. He was also head coach of PLDT Volleyball Teams in both Shakey’s V-League (SVL) and Philippine Superliga (PSL). He coached the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team at the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore. And currently, he is handling two collegiate teams: NU Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP and San Sebastian Lady Stags in the NCAA. Surely, this man is a legend in Philippine Volleyball. He has achieved a lot compared to his contemporaries.
